Harvey was educated at the London School of Economics and has two degrees in Law an LLB and a LLM and in the latter degree he specialised in company law and intellectual property . He also won the Hughes Parry Prize for the Law of Contract ..
He was appointed as a personal Research Assistant to Professor K.W. Wedderburn, a titan of UK employment and company law.
Harvey was directly involved in the research for then-standard legal texts, including Gower on Company Law and Sutton & Shannon on the Law of Contract.
He has authored numerous articles for legal publications and has appeared on television and radio to discuss business-related topics.
